My good friend Camille sent me an old roll of film from France. Portra 160 to be exact. I got a cheap Yashica point and shoot off ebay and took them both with me on a recent desert adventure….The new camera had an “infinity focus” button you had to hold down as you hit the shutter.. this button was right next to the rewind button. So you see where this is going right? 7 shots in, on day 1 of the trip I accidentally hit the rewind button, panicked (take out the battery and the rewind stops, duh) and let the whole roll rewind. So that night I pried open the film and reset it. What you have here in all it’s light leaked and double exposed glory is a documentation of a 4 day bike packing tour of the Saline Valley area of Death Valley National park.

My good friend Caro from Paris sent me a disposable camera in the first weeks of lockdown back in March. She said to document the year.. So I guess I spent most of it out in the mountains in my truck.. not really all that mad about it.. THANKS CARO!!!

My friend Camille gave me this roll in France over the summer and i finally got around shooting all of it. BUT my Nikon has a sticky lens cover and if I forget to manually open the lens cover it gives each photo a rather abrupt vingette…kind of bummer, but also kind of cool looking.
